iQ Intraday Options Alerts
What Are iQ Options Alerts?
iQ Options Alerts identify when there is a statistically-based probability of a directional move in the equity markets on given day.
The alerts are designed specifically to support directional option trades (vertical credit/debit spreads and calls & puts) for “same day” bets on the SPX (S&P 500) using Weekly Index Options with 0 days to expiration.
The CBOE’s recent addition of daily expirations Monday through Friday, allow the prepared trader to take advantage of market volatility any day of the week without having to trade stocks or futures, or hold a risky position overnight.
How Does the iQ Alert Signal Work?
iQ Options Alerts are posted up to three times a day in the Alerts channel of the iQ Discover interactive research platform:
Trade Potential: 9:00 pm ET (the evening prior)
Trade Probability: 9:10 am ET
Trade Confirmation : 9:30 am ET
What is the Edge?
iQ Options Alerts are based on InvestiQuant’s proprietary signal technology. Each evening InvestiQuant updates its database of factors (~750) and an ensemble of machine-learning systems determine if the S&P 500 is in a state that has statistically favored a directional trade (long or short) for the next day’s regular session (9:30 am ET - 4:00 pm ET).
The methodology was created from 2012-2016 with the assistance of the Duke University Center for Quantitative Modeling. The approach was refined, automated and scaled with the help of a $3 million equity investment from a group of clients 2014-2016. The signal has been in production and used in live trading by InvestiQuant and hundreds of clients continuously since inception.
